Clinical Correlation of Histopathological Classification, Scoring, and Grading in Amyloid Nephropathies: Single-Center Experience

Objective: Amyloidosis is disorder of various etiologies in which abnormally folded fibrillary protein deposits with more than thirty forms infiltrate into extracellular spaces affected organs. Renal involvement clinically characterized by decreased estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and proteinuria. The aim present study was to classify grade renal amyloidosis cases using amyloid prognostic score (RAPS) systems, correlate clinical data chronic kidney disease (CKD) stages. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed biopsies 45 patients diagnosed applied between 2017-2022 our department scored each according RAPS. Results: 8.9% had RAPS 1, 53.3% 2 37.8% 3. Urea, serum creatinine proteinuria levels RAPS3 were significantly higher eGFR lower compared RAPS1 (p<0.01). According CKD stages, no significant difference observed deposition class score, vascular interstitial scores, sclerosis (p>0.05). fibrosis, inflammation values scores found be advanced stages (p<0.05). Majority at stage 1-2 (73.68%), while 57.1% 3 66.7% 4-5 (p=0.0015). Conclusion: As a result, the intestinal values, Distribution pattern parenchyma compartment, associated urea/creatinine, thus stage.
